EVS high gasoline automobiles within the German reliability report – however a weak level is not going to cease
Electric vehicles crush old stereotypes that are delicate or unreliable, and the data now supports them in a great way. According to Germany's ADAC – Europe's largest provider of road aid – EVS are actually more reliable than the counterparts for combustion engine (ICE). And this is not just a small study – it is based solely on astonishing 3.6 million pensions in 2024.
For cars that were registered between 2020 and 2022, the EVS was only 4.2 outlets per 1,000 vehicles, while ice cream trucks more than twice from 10.4 per 1,000 double. Even if more EVs were on the street, they only made 1.2% of the total envelopes out of a large profit for the battery-operated quantity.
Among the outstanding actors, some cars delivered exceptionally low default rates. The Audi A4 drove for 2022 models with only 0.4 edges per 1,000 vehicles, with model 3 from Tesla directly behind it at 0.5. The Volkswagen ID.4, another popular EV, which is also impressed by a rate of 1.0 – as well as the Mitsubishi Eclipse with 1.3. On the other hand, there were some important outliers: the Hyundai Ioniq 5 showed a surprisingly high sticker per 1,000 vehicles for its 2022 models, while the hybrid toyota rav4 18.4.
Interestingly, the most common problem for EVS and ice vehicles was exactly the same: the modest 12-volt battery. Despite all the futuristic technologies in electric vehicles, it is this old component that causes 50% of all electric vehicles and 45% for gas -powered cars. In the meantime, EVS shine in categories such as engine management and electrical systems in which traditional engines are more complex and more prone to errors.
But EVS are not completely flawless. They had a slightly higher rate of tire problems 1.3 breaks per 1,000 vehicles compared to 0.9 for ice cream trucks. This could be due to their heavier weight and their high torque, which can accelerate the tire wear. Nevertheless, this trend fades into newer EVs when the tire technology and vehicle calibration improve.
Now beyond Germany zooming: A study by the 2024 consumer reports in the USA has painted another picture. It found that EVS, especially newer models, had more reliability problems than gas cars, citing technical disorders and inconsistent processing quality. However, it is worth noting that the American data focused more on problems with the owner, not just on breakdowns on the side of the road.
While long -term history is still developing, especially for older electric vehicles, Germany indicates Germany that EVS when it comes to simply keeping it on the street, quiet, efficient and with far less pense than expected.
