In a statement, Zelenskyy said that the planned ceasefire would stop all hostilities, “not only for rockets, drones and bombs, not only in the Black Sea, but along the entire front line.”
“Ukraine welcomes this proposal. We see it as a positive step and are ready to take it,” said Zelenskyy. “The United States now have to persuade Russia to do the same. If Russia agrees, silence will come into force immediately.”
“Today we made an offer that the Ukrainians have accepted, namely a ceasefire and immediate negotiations to end this conflict in a way that is permanent and sustainable and its interests, their security and their ability to thrive as a nation,” said Rubio.
“And hopefully we will now take this offer to the Russians and we hope that they say yes that they say yes to peace,” said Rubio. “The ball is now in your farm.”

In a joint explanation, the delegations of the United States and the Ukrainian delegations said that the preliminary, monthly ceasefire “can be extended by mutual agreement of the parties”.

Zelenskyy said in his nightly television speech to Ukraine: “Our position is absolutely clear: Ukraine was looking for peace from the first second of this war, and we want to do everything we can to achieve peace as quickly and reliably – so that the war never returns.”
