Tesla manager Jerome Guillen has left the company after just three months as president of its heavy trucking unit, according to an SEC file released on Monday.
“We thank him for his many contributions and wish him all the best for his future career,” said the company’s announcement. His last day was June 3rd.
Prior to his appointment in March, Guillen had headed the company’s entire vehicle business since 2018. During his tenure as President of Automotive, Tesla opened its first overseas plant in Shanghai and expanded its battery cell supply partnerships. Guillen has been with the company since November 2010 in positions reporting directly to CEO Elon Musk.
On its shareholder deck for Q4 2020, Tesla said the Semi program was still “in development” but promised Tesla Semi shipments would begin in 2021. In its annual financial filing with the SEC for 2020, Tesla did not repeat this semi-delivery deadline.
Guillen is the second senior executive to leave in the last few months after former vice president of legal Al Prescott, who left in April.
