RIP Prince Philip, royal local weather skeptic – does that agree?

Guest essay by Eric Worrall

h / t JoNova – In the age of the flamboyant wake-up of British royals demanding climate sacrifices from citizens while floating around in private jets, it’s easy to overlook the fact that not every king is a pompous green hypocrite.

Prince Philip, climate skeptic, is already spinning in his grave

Rowan Dean

Prince Philip was a skeptic about climate change. In correspondence with 2018 contributor and author of Spectator Australia, Ian Plimer, the Duke of Edinburgh not only congratulates Professor Plimer on his most recent book, The Climate Change Delusion, but also praises his previous book, Heaven and Earth, in which also questioned the “lack of science” behind the global warming scam.

In the letter Ian kindly sent to The Spectator Australia, the late prince – who never crushed his words – described the wind turbines that are now wiping out landscapes around the world as “monstrosities”.

Here is the letter from Windsor Castle dated April 29, 2018:

What a great question. As we can see, Prince Philip, a patron of the Royal Geographical Society, admired the work and writing of geologist Ian Plimer. In fact, the prince tried to invite Professor Plimer to London to address the Royal Society of Artists (RSA) on climate change.

Prince Philip also said some things that I did not like; He once expressed a desire to be reborn as a deadly disease to deal with overpopulation. Despite his reasonable views on renewable energy, it must be remembered that he was also a man with great imperfections.

Still, I think the British will miss Philip’s silent criticism of the green plague. The Royals still have a huge impact on British affairs as they can influence the thinking of British elites. Prince Philip leaves behind two generations of fanatical climate activists who I fear will delay Britain’s painful journey back into energy politics.

Update (EW): Link to well-known British politician Nigel Farage, who praised the service that Prince Philip did for Great Britain.
