PlugStar's platform customizes your way of life with electrical autos and buy incentives

A recent survey by research firm Accenture found that the majority of potential electric vehicle (EV) buyers are primarily interested in reliability, affordability and how well electric vehicles integrate into their daily lives.

It appears that Plug In America, a nonprofit organization dedicated to accelerating the transition to electric vehicles, took these concerns into account when it redesigned PlugStar.com, its information and purchasing platform.

The site's goal is to simplify the electric vehicle purchasing process and provide potential buyers with advanced tools and resources to make owning an electric vehicle more accessible and hassle-free.

As a visitor to the site, you will first be asked to enter your zip code and PlugStar will then provide you with the most relevant information, from EV models and incentives to local events and educational information.

“Electric vehicles are different and electric vehicle buyers need to answer many specific questions to find the right car for their needs,” said Joel Levin, CEO of Plug In America, in a statement. “Our team of experts has compiled the best data on vehicles, incentives, chargers, electricians and dealers to create a cutting-edge and essential resource for anyone looking to buy or lease an electric vehicle.”

The platform offers a shopping assistant and advanced filters to help customers find electric vehicle models that fit their lifestyle.

It also helps identify appropriate incentives, whether for a specific vehicle or for chargers and electricity, at the national and state levels, as well as at the local level where Plug In America has partnerships. The platform also helps connect you with PlugStar certified dealers who are knowledgeable about electric vehicles and can offer federal incentives.

These features could be useful given the highly uncertain fate of the existing $7,500 tax credit when purchasing or leasing a new electric vehicle. The new Trump administration reportedly plans to end the stimulus next year. Meanwhile, some states, such as California, plan to reinstate their own incentives.

The PlugStar platform also provides details on each EV model, as well as a customizable calculator for purchasing, borrowing or leasing, as well as comparing vehicle features side-by-side. Finally, the website also offers help in finding public charging stations or home charging solutions.

As if all that wasn't enough, Plug In America says all visitors who create a profile on PlugStar.com before the end of the year will be entered into a drawing for a $250 gift card.
