Occasions and media signing, 2006–2025

We would like to share an important update with our contributors and our community.

After the FT group took over a majority stake in TNW in 2019, the Covid 19 pandemic significantly disrupted the core source of the TNW. Despite considerable efforts in the years since then, no sustainable path to commercial life was found.

In view of this and the broader financial prospects, the TNW board had to make the difficult decision to close its events & media division.

The TNW spaces will continue to work as usual, but the media page will only publish new content by the end of September, and there is no TNW conference in 2026.

In response to the announcement, Boris Veldhuijzen van Zanten, co -founder and board member, shared his considerations:

“TNW was the adventure of a life. We started in a unique moment in history, just as the world moved online and everything was digital. It was a thrill not only to observe this shift, but also to promote and accelerate it.

“Over time when digitally became the norm, our role felt less to break new ways and more about what had already been achieved. I am grateful that we have to play our role, and I am glad that we can now proudly close this chapter.”

We would like to thank the participants and the community that TNW made a special place. You have created a unique voice in technology, presented the best of the industry and revealed the worst. We are sad to say goodbye, but grateful for 20 years of memories and an influence that will take far beyond.

From the heart of technology, thank you.
