KI, 3D structure copy accelerated by 90% pocket financing

The Oslo-based startup visoid has increased 700,000 € seed financing for its AI software, the architects helps to transform their 3D models into striking renders within seconds.

For architects and designers, a good render can mean the difference between winning or loss of a customer. However, rendering usually requires a lot of time, effort, specialist knowledge and money. Tools like Visoid try to disturb the status quo.

“What started as a simple tool for architects to produce beautiful visualizations led us on a trip to simplify and democratize the visualization process itself,” said co -founder Joachim Holwech.

This is how the software works:

You do a screenshot of your 3D design and import it into the web-based app from Visoid. Then write a general overview of your creative vision with a text request “Scandinavian house in the forest with large windows”. You can also set more detailed requirements such as the desired lighting or background elements. As soon as you're done, click on “Render”.

Then the AI, which is trained in real buildings and houses, creates their visualization. If you are satisfied with the result, download it into a resolution of up to 4K.

All of this accelerates the 3D rendering time by up to 90%.

The startup also promises the costs. A typical architecture 3D render costs Between € 90 and € 9,000 per picture. In contrast, the Premium software package from VISOID is available for only € 55 per month.

The founders of the Panl construction outfit based in the USA, one of Visoid's customers, described the effects as “groundbreaking”.

“It enables us to create a lot of nice content for a fraction of the price,” they said.

Ki accelerates into architecture

Panl is far from applying artificial intelligence to architecture. According to A, over 40% of architects are now using AI tools report Last month from the Royal Institute of British Architects (Riba).

Some of these AI tools include Openas Chatgpt for writing briefs and text-to-image generators such as stable diffusion, midjourney or Dall-E for creating early concept designs. However, Visoid is confident that his tool offers something unique.

“In contrast to other AI tools that create pictures from input requests and light references, Visoid uses the actual 3D models of the architects to create precise, actual renderings,” CEO and co-founder Mark Szoke told TNW.

“While other AI tools are based with more freedom that are based on less information and are more relevant for the generation of concept ideas and variations, Visoid ensures precise control and photo-realistic main reasons for our quick growth in use in just one year.”

Since the start in 2023, Visoid has attracted customers in over 80 countries and generated more than 2.7 million pictures, with over 500,000 being uploaded to its platform, the company said.

The startup's progress attracted the attention of the VC company Antler, which took part in the new seed financing round.

“The fact that you have reached a high ARR [annual recurring revenue] and attracted users from all over the world While I spent very little money for marketing Shows that they have built something that creates a real value for their customers, ”said Anna Munthe-Kaas, Associate Partner at Antler.

Together with Lead Investor Startuplab, a Norwegian startup incubator as well as investor and Bauriesen -Bos, Antler contributed to a new financing of Visoid.

Visoid will use the fresh capital to expand its team and reach new customers. One of the recent additions to the customer base is the Nordic Office of Architecture. The company is one of the leading architectural practices of the Scandinavia and led mega projects, including the new Oslo Airport and the Norway government district.
