Former FBI director James Comey was not guilty on Wednesday morning of the federal criminal records in Virginia requested by President Donald Trump.

Comey’s plea came when he first appeared in the case in which he was accused of making a wrong statement during his statement before a Senate committee in 2020 and hindered a congress procedure.

Comey was charged with the US district court in Alexandria, where his defense lawyer Patrick Fitzgerald said that Comey would like jury.

Two federal prosecutors from North Carolina were commissioned to process Comey’s case, which is considered a sign that Lindsey Halligan, the preliminary US prosecutor for the eastern district of Virginia, had difficulty winning public prosecutors in her own office for working on the case.

Halligan was commissioned by Trump with this office, shortly after her predecessor Erik Siebert had resigned under the pressure from Trump after Siebert was supposedly not ready to apply for an indictment against Comey through the Grand Jury.

After Comey was charged at the end of September, he said in an Instagram video answer: “I’m not afraid”.

“My family and I have known for years that it causes costs to offer Donald Trump’s forehead,” said Comey in the video.

“But we couldn’t imagine living differently. We won’t live on our knees, and they shouldn’t do that either.”

Comey, who was released by Trump as a FBI director in 2017, is accused of lying on September 30, 2020 during his statement before the Senate Justice Committee.

That day, Comey denied someone else at the FBI as an anonymous source in news reports about an investigation by Hillary Clinton and her emails when she was a presidential candidate for the Democrats in 2016.
