Will the gender gap, the income gap, the Latino vote, or media and marketing campaigns determine the vote count in the US presidential election?
CNBC senior business reporter Steve Liesman sat down with four poll experts to take an in-depth look at the data and find out who could swing the election in favor of either Vice President Kamala Harris or former President Donald Trump. The panel included Steve Kornacki, national political correspondent for NBC News; Mark Murray, senior political editor at NBC News; Micah Roberts, partner at Public Opinion Strategies and Republican pollster for CNBC; and Jay Campbell, CNBC's Hart Research partner and Democratic pollster.
The conclusion? Yes, it's probably due to the economy. But other factors such as character and voter turnout, which candidate embodies change, who arouses enthusiasm and who the persuaded voters ultimately choose for him also determine the result.
