The Chinese Ministry of Commerce said that US President Donald Trump's threat from escalating tariffs and swore was “resolutely contradicted” to take countermeasures to protect its own rights and interests.
The comments came after Trump explained that he would impose an additional value of 50% for US imports from China on Wednesday if Beijing did not withdraw the 34% tariff that imposed last week.
“The US threat to escalate tariffs on China is an error in addition to an error,” says the explanation according to a CNBC translation. “China will never accept it. If the United States insists on its own way, China will fight until the end.”
