Controlled Demolition, Inc. (CDI) of Phoenix, Maryland, USA (subcontracted explosives design and performance to the main demolition company Dallas Demolition in Houston, Texas who worked for RiverCap Ventures in Rocky River, Ohio, the general demolition contractor). successfully conducts explosives waste from 90 Mitsubishi 1000A wind turbines in New Mexico.
No effort was made to preserve foundations or other wind farm infrastructures. The CDI crew dumped the 90 units onto the site in two (2) mobilizations so that the wind farm owner could complete the recovery of the blades and driveline elements of some wind turbines in order to provide replacement parts for similar units they operate in other wind farm locations. The units were felled exactly according to plan and ahead of schedule.
