While SpaceX is waiting for the results of a critical choice that would transform the location of his Starbase starting place into a built -in city in Texas, the legislator has refused to give Elon Musk aerial and space company a greater control over a main roads and a public beach.
Starbase, where Muschus builds its Rockets and starts, is located in Boca Chica, Texas, on the golf coast. The residents of the area vote whether the small community should be transformed into a city, whereby the election is to be completed on Saturday.
On Monday, the Texas House State Affairs Committee voted against a law that SpaceX would have enabled more control over access to the motorway and the public beach in the likely event in which the company enforced the efforts in the latest city of Texas. According to the Texas Tribune, around 500 people live in the community today, including SpaceX employees and around 120 children.
In the past, SpaceX had to close streets and beaches around Starbase to carry out test flights and starts, including the massive rockets in the Starship Rockets area, the musk as a prelude for a later Mars mission. By completing access to beaches in the region, SpaceX must inform the authorities in Cameron County, the southernmost County in Texas, and meet permission.
The frequent closures contributed to legal complaints against SpaceX and drawn protests by residents and activists, including the Trizo ComeCrudo Stamm in Texas, the South Texas Environmental Justice Network and the border workers United.
Activists in the area of Rio Grande Valley, where Starbase is located, protested and officially used against the invoices. Related suggestions could be introduced before the legislator meets again next month.
As CNBC previously reported, SpaceX has carried out test flights or starts that have led to fires and damage of the species in the region, which was essential for some endangered.
In an example, SpaceX was documented by the Environmental Protection Agency for pollution of waters in Texas in violation of the Clean Water Act. After these fines, Musk threatened to sue FAA for “regulatory overstream”, but never filed a complaint.
According to a history of the New York Times in July, the damage to the local wildlife, including the bird life caused by SpaceX, wrote Musk in a post on his social media page X.
It was a week for Musk Donald Trump formally supported the president after the Republican candidate at that time tried an assassination at a rally in Pennsylvania. Subsequently, Musk spent almost 300 million US dollars to have the white house back, and now serves as the president's advisor with influence on spatial flight and environmental regulations.
When managing the Ministry of Government Efficiency, Musk contributed to deleting both the environmental protection authority and the Federal Aviation Administration. Under the EPA of Trump, the USA promised to “rethink” or rethink dozens of rules for the removal, which are currently restricting air pollution and waste water through energy, car and manufacturing sectors.
Tim Hughes, SpaceX 'head of government matters, did not answer a request for a comment, nor did the State Senator Adam Hinojosa and the state representative Janie Lopez, both Republicans, who introduced the legislation to give SpaceX local beach control.
Correction: A previous version of this story had a wrong name for one of the legislators who presented legislation.
