Meta On Friday, it announced to expand his board of directors with two new members, including Dina Powell McCormick, part of President Donald Trump's first government.
Powell McCormick worked from 2017 to 2018 as the deputy national security advisor from Trump. She is also married to Senator Dave McCormick, a Republican from Pennsylvania who took up his office in January.
“He is a good man,” said Trump, according to The Associated Press, McCormick last year. Powell McCormick and her husband were photographed next to Trump and in March Tesla CEO Elon Musk, a current advisor to the President, at a wrestling championship game in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.
In addition, Powell McCormick was deputy foreign minister under Kondoleezza Rice in the administration of President George W. Bush.
In addition to her political background, Powell McCormick is deputy chair, president and head of global customer services at BDT & MSD Partners. This company was founded in 2023 when the Merchant Bank Bdt was combined with Michael Dells Investment company MSD. Powell McCormick arrived at the company after 16 years Goldman Sachswhere she had been a partner.
Their appointment represents another sign of the orientation of meta with republicans after Trump returned to the White House.
In January, the company announced a relocation from the factual examination and said that Trump's friend Dana White, CEO of the Ultimate Fighting Championship, would bring to the board. The changes follow Trump, who synchronized the company behind Facebook and Instagram “The Enemy of the People” on CNBC last year.
Meta, Patrick Collison, co -founder and CEO of Payments Startup Stripe, also voted the board on Friday. Stripe had a takeover offer of 65 billion US dollars last year.
“Patrick and Dina bring a lot of experience with the support of companies and entrepreneurs on our board,” said Mark Zuckerberg, co -founder and CEO of Meta.
Zuckerberg visited the White House last week after visiting Trump's inauguration in Washington in January. Politico reported last week that the Meta CEO paid 23 million US dollars in cash for a manor house in the country's capital.
Powell McCormick and Collison officially become directors on April 15, said Meta.
