'Green Rotten Apple's' is the author's second book. It mixes a classic murder story with non -fiction books in today's world of climate shelters, the energy transition dilemma and the subsequent geopolitical consequences. What makes it something unique is that it can be downloaded from all.
The story takes place in Oslo, Norway in 2029, where Cop34 is to be arranged in front of X-Mas. The UN agenda is to sanction a “formerly” global ban on fossil extraction. Strong forces move into opposite directions when the summit approaches. Corpse appear.
Metal Head, Porsche enthusiast and murder agent Odin Å in Norway's Special Police Unit (Kripos) takes the case. Together with his team, they chase the murderer and the puppet master in the shade. The activism on both sides makes the picture blurry and there are also signs of lazy apples within the police.
The book was in November/29 December a fixed and conventional schedule for the conference, but the author uses in detail in good time to develop characters and give information about the secret. Bullying and harassment at different levels is a thread in the entire book.
Another feature is the significant use of chronicles and surgical EDs to present the realities of science and energy. Some of them are real OP EDs published by the author in Norwegian newspapers, some are rejected, and some are pure fiction (footnotes make it clear what this is). The book also gives a number of references to the IPCC Scientific Reports, Nordhaus' Würfelmodell, Pielke JR, Vaclav Smil etc.
One main message is to show how dependent the world is on fossil fuels, how difficult it will be to replace them, how frightened the green activists – and why. In a situation in which both sides believe that the world would end quickly, COP34 lays the basis for massive conflicts. Without giving away too much; Oslo is developing into a combat area, as can be seen in similar cases of cop, G7/G8 etc.
If you like books like Michael Crichton's condition of fear, books by Jon Pepper or Bjørn Lomborg, this may be something for you. If you like music or even metal/rock, it is even more for you. And if you like a shot of humor or dark humor, the door is wide open. The feedback from the artistic consultants during the writing/review process described it as a high pace of Cliffhanger Bonanza. In short, easy to read, chapter.
The book was offered to all main publishers in Norway, but the lack of political correctness probably made this a fool.
