February 2021 data for Iceland and Greenland are available from the Japan Meteorological Agency (JMA). This means that the latest DJF winter meteorological mean temperature can be calculated.

The Icelandic winters have cooled off since 2001

We recorded the JMA data for three stations (the ones with sufficient data) in Iceland. Result: no warming in the last 18 winters!

Data: JMA.

As you will notice, some winter data is missing for Iceland, but there is enough to show us that the winters there cooled rather than warmed.

Earlier this year we recorded the annual data for these three Icelandic stations and found that 2 had cooled down and the third was stable.

Data source: JMA.

Obviously, there has been no warming on this North Atlantic island since the beginning of the century. The alarmists don’t shout for anything.

Greenland stations have cooled off

Next we are going to Greenland. The following are graphs of the annual JMA data for 6 stations in Greenland. Some stations have data gaps, but they can still give us a pretty good idea of what’s going on.

Data source: JMA.

There is no real warming in Greenland either. It’s all been pretty stable since 2001.

And what about the winters in Greenland? The six stations are shown as follows:

Data source: JMA.

Once again, the JMA data for Greenland is a bit fragmented, but it certainly does a better job than Michael Mann’s Tree Rings. Overall, nothing unusual happened in Greenland during the winter of this century.

2021 Arctic melt refuses to start

Finally, that winter’s Arctic sea ice continued its ascent and reached it from March 21st
